Super admins can restrict users to only access Zoho Vault from a particular geographical location. Companies operating in the regulated industries like banking, finance, insurance, healthcare, and so on can enforce this location-based restriction for an additional level of security. For example, super admins can allow users and user groups to only access their Zoho Vault account from a certain geolocations, such as Austin, London, or Singapore, as configured by them.
Configuring Geolocation restrictions:
You can configure restrictions by searching for a particular location on the map and selecting them accordingly. To get started:
- Select Geolocation Restriction from the Security section of Settings tab, then click Add Geolocation Restriction.
- Allow the browser to access your location.
- Enter a name and description for the restriction.
- Search for a location and mark the ranges using the drawing tools having different shapes, such as square, circle, rectangle, and polygon. You can also delete a shape using the Delete button.
- Once a geolocation restriction has been added, you can impose the restrictions to users and user groups.
- Under Actions, click Manage Access.
- Select the required users or user groups, associate them with the restriction, and click Save.
- You can also select a user or user group at any time and delete the restriction association as required.
- All of these operations are audited and can be found from Audit -> Others.
Note:
- This feature is powered by Zoho Maps.
- This restriction affects all users, including Admin and Super Admin.
- Users who are not associated with any Geolocation Restriction ranges will be able to access the application from anywhere.
- Users will be allowed to access the application within a range of 30-40km of the Geolocation Restriction.
