Why is there a mandatory 24 hour buffer for an emergency contact to become active?
Super admins have the powers to nominate emergency contacts who can temporarily view all business passwords saved in the organization. To decentralize password access and to prevent super admins from nominating themselves or other unauthorized users as emergency contacts without org-wide approval, we enforce a mandatory 24-hour buffer period. During this period, Vault notifies all admins in the enterprise about the new emergency contact added to their organization.
