Integration with Cloud Storage Services (Data Backup)

Note:
- If Zoho Vault is unable to communicate with your cloud service, an encrypted copy of the data will be periodically sent to the corresponding users' registered email address until the configuration settings are corrected.
- At any instance, backup copies can be sent to only one cloud account.
Prerequisites
- Access Zoho Vault, then enable Data Backup from Settings, if you haven't already.
- Exempt selective users from receiving data backup from Manage Exemptions.
Backup configuration with Amazon S3
- Select Data Backup from Settings, then enable backup for Amazon S3.

Backup configuration with Box
- Log in to Box and access their developer's console.
- Click Create New App from My Apps.

- Select Custom App, then click Next.

- Select Standard OAuth 2.0 (User Authentication) as the Authentication method, then click Next.

- Set a unique name for your application.

- Click View App to reveal the Client ID and Client Secret. Make note of these details for Step 10.

Note: Change .com to .eu, .com.cn, .com.aub, or .in according to your registered domain.
- Open a new window to access the Settings tab from your Zoho Vault account.
- Select Box from Data Backup, then click Edit.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret details obtained from Step 6 in the pop-up window.
- Select the periodicity of your backup delivered to Box, then click Save.

Backup configuration with Google Drive
- Log in to the developer console of Google Drive and click on OAuth consent screen to add zoho.com under the Authorized Domains.

- Click Save.
- Click Create credentials from the Credentials tab to create an OAuth client ID.

- Register your Vault application by entering the Application Name.
- Click Create.
- Choose Web Application as your application type.
- Enter the name of your OAuth client ID under the Name field. This refers to Zoho Vault, in this instance.

- Click Create to generate the Client ID and Client Secret. Make note of these details for Step 12.


- Open a new window to access the Settings tab from your Zoho Vault account.
- Select Google Drive from Data Backup, then click Edit.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret you made a note of, in Step 9, then click Save.

Backup configuration with OneDrive
- Log in to the App registrations page of OneDrive, then click New registration.

- Register your Zoho Vault application by entering the application Name.
- In the section who can access the application select Accounts in any organizational directory (Any Microsoft Entra ID - Multitenant) and personal Microsoft accounts (e.g. Skype, Xbox).

Note: Change .com to .eu, .com.cn or .in according to your registered domain.
- The Application ID displayed will be your Client ID. Make a note of this.

- Click Certificates and secret under Manage from the left menu to generate the client secret.
- Under Client secret, select New client secret. Set an expiration timeline of your preference, then click Add.

- Copy the new client secret value and make a note of it. You will not be able to retrieve it after leaving this screen.

- Open a new window to access the Settings tab from your Zoho Vault account.
- Select OneDrive from Data Backup, then click Edit.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret from steps 5 and 8 in the pop-up, then click Save.

Backup configuration with Dropbox
- Log in to the developer console of Dropbox and click on Create your app to get started.

- Select Dropbox API under Select an API, and App folder as the type of access you need to Dropbox.
- Enter a name (Zoho Vault) for you app, then click Create.

- Make note of the App key and App Secret. They will be your Client ID and Client Secret details, respectively.

- Open a new window to access the Settings tab from your Zoho Vault account.
- Select Dropbox from Data Backup, then click Edit.
- Enter the Client ID and Client Secret from Step 3, then click Save.

Backup configuration with Zoho Workdrive
- Select Data Backup from Settings, then enable backup for Zoho WorkDrive.
- If you're an existing Zoho Workdrive user, click Edit to integrate the Workdrive team of your choice with Vault.

Note:
- Every user from your Workdrive team will be able to backup their data to their respective Workdrive account.
- You will be prompted to create a Workdrive account if you haven't signed up with or created a team with Zoho Workdrive. Refer to this document to get started with Zoho Workdrive.
