Zoho Vault Integration with Zoho Projects

Managing project tasks, maintaining clear communication, and staying organized can be daunting. Zoho Projects, an online project management tool, simplifies these challenges with a user-friendly platform for planning, tracking, and collaborating effectively.

Security is equally important when handling project-related information. This is where Zoho Vault comes into play. It integrates effortlessly with Zoho Projects, enabling you to securely share passwords and confidential data with your team or third parties. With various access permission levels, you can control who has access to specific information. Simply unlock Zoho Vault with your master password within Zoho Projects for instant access to everything you need.

Pre-requisites

 Adding the Zoho Vault extension to Zoho Projects   

  1. Log in to your Zoho Projects account. Click the Setup icon in the top-right corner of the top navigation band.
  2. Navigate to Marketplace and search for Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects
  3. Select the Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects extension.
  4. Click Install.
  5. In the General section, set your preferences. Select the profiles and projects you want the extension to be shared with or given access to.
  6. Agree to the terms of use and click Install Extension. You will be taken to the installed extensions list page.
  7. Click Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects under the Connections section.
  8. Click Connect. A pop-up window will open.
  9. Click Accept to authorize Zoho Vault. 
Voila! Zoho Vault extension will be ready for use.

Accessing the Zoho Vault extension

Once installed, the extension can be accessed from the bottom band of Zoho Projects. 
  1. Click the Extensions icon in the bottom-right corner.
  2. From the list, select Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects.
  3. Enter your Zoho Vault's master password and click Access Zoho Vault.
  4. The Passwords List from your Zoho Vault will be displayed.

Managing  passwords

When hovering over the passwords in the Passwords List, you will be able to view either or all of the three icons, based on the provisions given while creating the password.

  1. Click the Launch icon to redirect to the URL provided for the password.
  2. Click the Share icon to share the password.
  3. Select the Project, the User, and the Share Type.
  4. Click Share. The password will get shared directly to their Vault account.
  5. Click the View icon to see the password details.

Sharing passwords with third-parties 

If you need to share a password with someone outside your organization, like a contractor, you'll first need to invite them to join. Once they've accepted the invitation, you can then share the password. During this process, you'll receive an encryption key.  Share this key with the contractor, who will also be notified via email. They can then use the key to access the password.




Uninstalling the extension 

You may wish to uninstall the extension whenever it is no longer needed. To uninstall the extension:
  1. Click the Setup icon in the upper-right corner of the top navigation band.
  2. Navigate to Installed Apps under Marketplace.
  3. Click Zoho Vault for Zoho Projects.
  4. Click Uninstall in the top-right corner. A pop-up will be shown.
  5. Click Uninstall Extension.
