Sharing Passwords with Third Parties

Zoho Vault allows you to securely share passwords with third parties, such as contractors or freelancers, even if they don't have a Zoho Vault account or aren't part of your organization's Vault account.

To share a password with a third party:
  1. Go to the Passwords tab and select the password you want to share.
  2. Click Share, then switch to the Third-Parties section.
  3. Enter the recipient's email address.
  4. Set a time limit to automatically revoke access after a specified duration.
  5. Choose the language in which the recipient will view the shared details.
  6. Add an optional message for context or instructions.
  7. Click Share Password.
  8. An email will be sent to the recipient containing an encrypted link to view the password.
  9. An encryption key will be displayed on your screen after sharing. You must send this key to the recipient through a secure, separate channel. Without the key, the shared password cannot be accessed.

Third parties can also change the language in which they prefer to view the shared details.

Note: These external users will have View access to your passwords. The password link will be available for up to 72 hours for the users. You can customize the password validity to be anywhere between 30 minutes and 24 hours, after which the access to the link containing your password expires. We recommend that you change the shared password after the shared link expires.
