Zoho Cliq's integration with WorkDrive unlocks flexible collaboration with your peers. You can now quickly share files from WorkDrive in Cliq conversations and channels, and set the required permissions.
Here’s what you can do to collaborate quickly on Cliq with the power of WorkDrive behind it:
Share files to an individual user
- From Zoho Cliq, look up for a user using the search bar or from your current conversations and then select the conversation.
- Select the Upload Files icon next to the message field at the bottom.
- Select Share from WorkDrive.

- Search for and select the file you wish to share and click Pick.

A Link settings window will pop up where you can set permission for the file. Under Who can access, you can choose the required permission:
- Personal: Share the file with the individual user with the View permission.
- Members with access permission in WorkDrive: This option follows the current permission available in WorkDrive. Users who already have access can collaborate on the file, while other users will not be able to access it.
- Members of {org/team} in WorkDrive: This option makes the link accessible to anyone in your organization/team. If selected, you will be able to set the permission as View, View and comment, or Edit.
- Anyone on the internet: This option makes the link accessible to anyone on the internet with View permission.
- Click Apply.
- Add a comment if required, then click Share.
Share files to a Cliq channel
- Search for the channel you wish to send the file to on Zoho Cliq.
- Select the Upload Files icon next to the message field at the bottom.
- Select Share from WorkDrive.

- Search for and select the file you wish to share and click Pick.

Under Who can access, can choose the required permission from the following:
- Members with access permission in WorkDrive: This option follows the current permission available in WorkDrive. Users who already have access can collaborate on the file, while other users will not be able to access it.
- Members of {org/team} in WorkDrive: This option makes the link accessible to anyone in your organization/team. If selected, you will be able to set the permission as View, View and comment, or Edit.
- Anyone on the internet: This option makes the link accessible to anyone on the internet with the View permission.
- Toggle ON 'Provide permission to members who have access to the channel' to allow all channel members to access the file with the View permission.
- Click Apply.
- Add a comment if required, then click Share.

- Similar to channels, you can also share files from WorkDrive in Group chats.
- If any member joins the channel or group chat, they will also have access to the shared files.
- If any member leaves the channel or group chat, they will lose access to the shared files.
- If a user already has a higher permission on a file in WorkDrive, the higher permission will take precedence.
- Similarly, if you change the user’s permission on WorkDrive after sharing the file, the change will be reflected on Cliq too.
- You currently cannot share folders from WorkDrive.
