Switch teams and set a preferred team in Zoho WorkDrive
WorkDrive allows you to be a part of multiple teams and seamlessly switch between them for efficient collaboration. This feature is particularly useful if you manage multiple projects or work with different organizations using WorkDrive.
For example, if you handle marketing for three different clients, each with their own WorkDrive team, you can join all three teams and switch between them as needed. This flexibility allows you to access the right files, collaborate with the right people, and stay organized—all from a single WorkDrive account.
Switch teams in WorkDrive
If you’re a member of multiple teams in WorkDrive, follow these steps to switch between them:
- Sign in to your WorkDrive account. This will open the WorkDrive interface.
- Click on the Switch Account dropdown at the top, which displays the name of your currently active team.
- From the list of joined teams, select the team you want to switch to.
- Your chosen team’s WorkDrive interface will load instantly, allowing you to continue your work.
Similarly, you can switch between teams any time to manage multiple projects efficiently.
Set a preferred team
If you’re part of multiple WorkDrive teams, setting a preferred team ensures that all files and folders shared with you by external users are stored in one designated location under Shared with Me. This helps keep your shared content organized and easy to access.
For example, if you manage marketing for three different clients and frequently receive files from external collaborators, setting a preferred team ensures that all shared files are stored in a single location under Shared with Me, instead of being scattered across different teams. This makes it easier to find and manage important documents.
- Sign in to your WorkDrive account.
- Click on the Switch Account dropdown at the top, which displays the name of your currently active team.
- To set your preferred team:
- If your currently active team is the one you want to set as preferred, select Set this as preferred team from the menu.
- If you want to choose a different team:
- Click Change and select your preferred team from the list.
- Click Apply.
- Confirm your selection in the confirmation dialog box.
Once your preferred team is set, all files and folders shared with you by external users will be stored in the preferred team under Shared with Me. You can update your preferred team anytime by following the same steps.
Important:
If your WorkDrive subscription expires, you will have the option to upgrade your subscription or switch to the free WorkDrive Essentials plan (5GB).
You can still switch your active team by clicking the Switch Account dropdown with the team name at the top and selecting your preferred team.
