Add files using keyboard shortcuts

In Zoho WorkDrive, you can now use keyboard shortcuts to easily upload, move, and copy files, provided you have the required permissions in the selected folder.

Upload files from clipboard

When you copy files from your system or browser, the files will be copied to the system's clipboard temporarily, which you can then upload to WorkDrive directly using keyboard shortcuts.
To copy files to your system clipboard: ctrl/cmd + c
To paste files in WorkDrive: ctrl/cmd + v
  1. Copy the required files (ctrl+c on Windows/cmd+c on MacOS) you want to upload to WorkDrive from your system or a browser tab.

    Note: You can now directly upload image files copied from the web to WorkDrive. Additionally, you can use the snapshot feature by pressing Windows key + shift + s (cmd + ctrl + shift + 4 on MacOS) and upload it to WorkDrive.

  2. Sign in to your WorkDrive account.
  3. Go to the location you wish to upload these files on WorkDrive and press ctrl+v (cmd+v on MacOS). Ensure you have the required permissions to upload in the given location.
  4. A pop-up will show you which location the files will be uploaded to. Using the Change Location option, you can change the upload location to any other folder.
  5. Select Upload.
Limitations:
  1. Uploading files from Finder (Mac OS)/File explorer (Windows) is currently not supported on the Mozilla Firefox browser.
  2. Uploading folders from your system using shortcuts is currently not supported.

Move files and folders

  1. Sign in to your WorkDrive account.
  2. Select the required files and folders.
  3. Press ctrl+x (cmd+x on MacOS). A message will pop up notifying you that these items are ready to be moved.
  4. Ensure that you have the required permission to upload items in the destination folder and press ctrl+v (cmd+v on MacOS).
  5. Once the move action initiates, a message will pop up showing how many items are being moved.
Limitations:
  1. Only an Organizer or Admin of a Team folder can move items within the Team folder.
  2. Only an Admin of a Team folder can move items from their Team folder to their My folders.
  3. Only an Admin of a Team folder can move items from their Team folder to another Team Folder or a shared folder, provided they have at least an editor role in the destination folder.

Copy files and folders

  1. Sign in to your WorkDrive account.
  2. Select the required files and folders.
  3. Press ctrl+c (cmd+c on MacOS). A message will pop up notifying you that these items have been copied to clipboard.
  4. Ensure that you have the required permission to add items in the destination folder and press ctrl+v (cmd+v on MacOS).
  5. Once the copy action initiates, a message will pop up showing how many items are being copied.
Limitations
  1. You can move or copy files and folders from one WorkDrive browser tab to another as long as both tabs are using the same account.
  2. To copy items from within a Team folder, you need at least an Editor role.
  3. To copy items from one Team folder to another Team or shared folder, you need to have at least an Editor role in the destination folder.
  4. To copy items from a Team folder to your folders, you need to be part of the team folder with any role.
  5. You can only copy or move a maximum of 100 items at a time using keyboard shortcuts.
