Note: A user must have Edit or higher permission  to add video chapters for a video.

To add a description and chapters to a video:

1. Double-click the video file. The file will open in preview mode. Alternatively, click the More Options (...) icon and choose Preview. 
   
   
2. Select the Details button from the right pane.
3. Click the Add Description and Chapters button in the Details pane. A description box will appear. 
   
   
   
   
4. To add a description:
        Enter a brief note or context for the video in the description box.   
   ​​
   To add a chapter: 
   Enter the timestamp followed by a chapter title in the description box.

• The first timestamp must start at 00:00 or 00:00:00.

• Timestamp and title must be separated by a hyphen (-), with or without a space.
  Ex: 00:02:25 - Overview or 00:02:25-Overview

• Each timestamp should be the beginning time of the chapter.  For example:
  00:00:00 - Introduction
  00:02:25 - Overview
  00:30:40 - Feature explanation
  01:12:19 - Wrap up

• Your video must have at least three chapters, listed in ascending order.

• There must be a minimum 10-second interval between each chapter.

            

5. Click Save. 

Once saved, the description will appear in the preview panel and helps others understand the purpose or content of the video and jump to any chapter from the video preview.

Edit Description and Chapters

1. Open the video in preview mode.
2. Click the Details button from the right pane.
3. Click the Edit (pencil) icon in the bottom-right corner of the description box.
4. Make the necessary changes to the description, timestamp, or chapter title.
5. Click Save to apply the changes.

Tip: If you want to display chapters as clickable timestamps in description instead of dividing the video into sections, start the first chapter with a timestamp other than 00:00. This way, the video won’t be split into sections, and viewers can simply click the timestamps in the description to jump to specific parts.
