Generate transcripts for audio and video files
You can easily convert your audio and video files into text, making it easier to read, search, and reference key information without replaying the entire file. With this transcription option, you can quickly find specific moments, capture important insights, and improve accessibility across your content.
Available in all paid WorkDrive plans (Starter, Team, and Business)
To generate transcripts:
- Open the desired file in the preview mode.
- Click the Transcript icon in the right-panel.
Alternatively, you can right-click the file and select the Transcript menu from the shown list. - Click Generate Transcript.
This might take some time depending on the file's duration. You may close the window. You'll receive a bell notification when the transcript is ready. - Once the transcript is ready, click on a timestamp to go to that particular part in the file.
Manage generated transcript:
Once your transcript is generated, you can perform additional actions to reuse or customize it based on your needs.
To access these options, click the More actions (...) icon within the transcript window.
You’ll find the following options:
- Copy: Quickly copy the entire transcript to your clipboard.
- Save: Save the transcript as a Zoho Writer document (.zdoc).
Zoho Writer allows you to: - Edit and format the transcript
- Collaborate with others in real time
- Hide/Show timestamps: Use this option to hide or display timestamps in the transcript view, depending on your preference.
- Any user with View access to an audio or video file can generate transcripts.
- Currently, external users cannot view and generate transcripts.
Limitations:
- Supported language: English
- Maximum file size supported: 1000 MB
- Maximum file duration supported: 5 hours
- Supported video formats: mp4, mpeg, mpg, mov, avi, flv, webm, wmv, swf, mkv
- Supported audio formats: wav, flac, mp3, opus, m4a
