How to shorten merge field names?

To shorten merge field name, do the following:

1. After inserting the merge fields in your document, click on the field for which you want to make changes to.

2. You will see the following three

options . Select the second option as shown below.

3. A dialog box will open where you can modify the name of that particular field.
