How to mark document as final to lock edits in Zoho Writer

Overview

The Mark as Final option lets you make a document read-only once all edits are complete. This prevents further changes when sharing with others. If needed, you can later enable editing again to make modifications.

Steps

Click File > Mark as final.
Once marked as final, edits cannot be made to the document unless you choose Enable Editing to unlock it again.

If you have unresolved edits, you will receive a pop-up prompting you to address them before marking the document final.

Mark as Final in the iOS App

This option is available only to document owners and collaborators with edit permission.

Open the document in the Zoho Writer iOS app.
Tap the More options icon (bottom-right corner) in the editor.
Select Mark as Final from the menu.
The document will now be marked as final and become read-only.

To make changes again, tap Enable Editing from the banner at the top or select Enable Editing from the same menu. A confirmation prompt will appear before the document becomes editable again.
