How to enable Track Changes and review edits in Zoho Writer
Overview
With Track Changes in Zoho Writer, you can visually track all insertions, deletions, and formatting edits made by collaborators. Review and finalize your document using modes like All Markup, No Markup, and Original, then accept or reject changes selectively or all at once. Collaborators with read-write or read-comment access can also enable Track Changes.
Markup modes
- All Markup: To view the document with the edits highlighted.
- No Markup: To see how the final document will look like if the edits were accepted. The edits/tracked-changes are only temporarily hidden and will be shown next time the document is opened.
- Original: To view a document with all the changes hidden.
Steps
How to enable track changes
- Click Review > Track Changes > On. You can also click the Track Changes button in the bottom bar to enable track changes.
- Edits made by collaborators in the document can be viewed using the Review tab.
How to change markup mode
- Click Review > Markup view.
- Choose your desired markup from the list of options.
How to accept or reject changes
- Choose the Review mode in the document.
- To accept or reject a particular change, hover over the change and click Accept or Reject.
- To accept or reject all the changes, click the three dot icon in the Review panel and click Accept All Changes or Reject All Changes.
How to customize track changes color
- Click Review > Markup color.
- Choose your desired markup color. You can set the color as default for all documents by selecting the Use as default color for new documents.
Note
- Markup mode is designed to give you an overview of the document. To permanently remove tracked changes, you must Accept or Reject them. Once the changes are finalized and the document is published within your organization or on the web, it will only appear in its final form—without markup views.
- When Track Changes is switched on in Zoho Writer, inserted text appears underlined in a unique color, while deleted text is shown with a strikethrough. Each collaborator’s edits are highlighted in different colors, making it easy to review and manage changes
