How do collaborators of a document know that I have added a comment?
Collaborators can get notifications of when you have added comments in the document by following either of the two below ways:
The follow option
This option lets collaborators follow activities of specific comments of their choice.
To follow a particular comment:
1. Click on the three dot option next to the comment and select Follow.
Collaborators will now receive email notification whenever there's a comment added.
Email notifications
Enabling notifications for replies on comments will let collaborators know when you've replied to their comments.
Here's how to enable it:
1. Go to Review mode and click on Email Notification Settings from the top panel of the editor.
2. From the Email Notification Settings, check the Enable notifications for only comment activities in the document option and you can choose from the list given below. To specifically get notified for replies on your comments, check the Notify me of all activities in the comments which I've participated option. You can further set the options you've selected as default across all your documents by checking the Set as default for all new documents option.
You can also notify collaborators via email for comments and changes made by clicking on the mail icon from the top panel.
