How to add different headers and footers to specific pages of a document

Overview

Learn how to apply different headers and footers to specific pages in Zoho Writer. Whether you're creating a cover page, specific sections like an appendix, or a distinct layout for one page, you can control exactly where your headers and footers appear. By using section breaks and unlinking sections, you can customize content page-by-page.

Steps

To add different headers and footers to only particular pages of a document, do the following:

Insert a Section Break

  1. Place the cursor at the end of the page before the one where you want a new header/footer.
  • Navigate to Insert Tab --> Page Break > Section Break > Next Page. This begins a new section starting on the next page.

  • Double-click within the header (or footer) area on the next page to open Header options.

  • Uncheck Link to previous section to break the automatic mirroring of header/footer content.

Add the Custom Header/Footer

  • With the link disabled, enter the new header or footer text (e.g., chapter title, page number) that applies only to this section.

  • Repeat these steps for any additional sections requiring distinct header/footer formatting.
