Import PDF for editing as Zoho Writer Document
When you import a PDF inside Zoho Writer, it is converted into a regular Writer document allowing you to directly add, edit and format its content just like any Writer or Word document. For detailed steps on how to edit a Writer document, refer to this page.
How to edit a PDF document in Zoho Writer
- Import the required PDF document to Zoho Writer in any of these ways:
- Go to Zoho Writer dashboard, and click the Upload button and select the file.
- Use the Upload Document option in the File menu in Zoho Writer's editor.
- Import the PDF document from Zoho WorkDrive. Right click on the desired PDF document in WorkDrive --> "Open With" --> "Zoho Writer (Web)"
- Make the required edits.
- Go to the File menu, click the Save As or Download As option, and select PDF format to save or download the updated document as a new PDF.

Limitations of editing PDFs using Zoho Writer
- Page limit while importing PDFs:
- Maximum page count: 100 pages
- Max file size: 10 MB
- Editing images: Images are retained but cannot be edited. However, you can annotate images or delete them.
- Editing tables: Tables are retained as images and cannot be edited; they can only be deleted
Limitations of editing PDFs for document automation
- Page limits while importing PDFs:
- Maximum page count: 50 pages
- Max file size: 10 MB
- Editing images: Images are retained but cannot be edited. However, you can annotate images or delete them.
- Editing tables: Tables are retained as images and cannot be edited; they can only be deleted
- Export: Cannot export the edited PDFs as password-protected files.
