Overview
User flows help in providing an overview of how users navigate through your app and show the different user pathways they take to interact with your app.
In Apptics, you can analyze user flows based on screen and event traversal. Sankey flow diagrams are used to represent the various user paths taken during the selected timeframe visually. These user pathways include backward navigation as well and they are captured as backflows in Apptics. You can analyze both normal and backward user flows for the app across app versions, devices, and countries.

Since the flow is based on screens and events data, make sure the data is tracked properly and available in the console. For SDK implementation, refer to our
SDK integration guide.
Analyze user flows in Apptics console
- Navigate to Engagement > Flows.
- You will see an overview of the user journey for your app across screens by default.
- Select from the first drop down above to view your app's user journey based on screen traversal, event traversal, or both together.
- You can further drill-down by using the other filter options provided such as the number of flows, app versions, devices, and countries.
- Enable the Backflow toggle button if you want to view the user retraces or backward flow in the user journey. A backward flow shows the instances where a user has visited any of the previous screens or events in the user journey.
NOTE: Screens and events are updated every next day for flows. Any changes in the screen or event traversal that happen today will reflect in the next day's user flows.
