How can an admin customize the navigation sidebar for the organization?
To customize the menu options in the navigation sidebar for your organization, do the following:
- Navigate to the admin panel and select User Profile & Settings under Customization.
- Select LHS Layout and you can make changes to your navigation sidebar.
Web & Desktop
View type
There are two views available on how the navigation sidebar will be displayed.
- Consolidated view - all active conversations will be displayed under Chat.
Categorized view - all active conversations will be displayed under specific tabs.
Bots
Bots can be classified under Contacts or can have a separate menu option in the LHS. You can use the lock icon to restrict users from modifying bots configuration.
Threads
Threads can be classified as a section under Chats, separate menu option in the LHS, combined with conversations or inline within parent chats. You can use the lock icon to restrict users from modifying threads configuration.
Drag and Drop Modules
You can drag and drop to arrange modules in the LHS for your organization. A module can be added as favourite, can be included under allowed or hidden apps.
Note:
- Admin can use the lock icon to restrict users from arranging modules. Once the admin has finalized the arrangement and saved changes, the users will have the same view and cannot customize the navigation sidebar in profile & settings.
- The changes you have made will appear with a red circle. The changes will be reflected only on clicking Save.
- Chats, Contacts and Channels are default modules and cannot be removed.
- You can pin up to 100 modules to the navigation sidebar.
Allowed apps
The apps installed from the marketplace are categorized in the allowed apps section. You can move apps from this section to the sidebar or hidden apps. To view the description of the app select the View info option.
Hidden apps
You can hide apps that will not be visible to the users in the organization. These apps can be reverted to allowed apps or added to the navigation sidebar when needed by the admin.
Favourite apps
You can also set a module as favourite. A star symbol will appear on the top-left corner of the module.
Note:
- When an admin pins a module as favourite, it becomes a mandatory module and users cannot remove it from the navigation sidebar.
Mobile
The navigation sidebar can also be customized for your mobile device by the admin by dragging and dropping modules. Admin can also restrict the users from rearranging modules.
