How to set up a custom email for your organization?
To configure your custom email:
- Navigate to Admin Panel.
- Under Customization select Emailers.
Step1
In the Custom Email screen, under Step 1 fill in the display name and email address you want and click on the Save button.
Note: Please ensure that your email address contains a domain that you own.
Step 2
The second step is to verify your email domain. All you have to do is copy the values displayed on the screen, enter them under CNAME records in your DNS hosting provider and save it, come back to Cliq and click on Verify.
More detailed steps to do the same:
- Log in to your DNS hosting provider and navigate to the admin console.
- In admin console locate the option to update DNS records. It will mostly be termed as DNS Configuration/DNS Settings/Manage DNS.
- Locate the CNAME records section (you might already have few configurations!).
- Copy the values from the table displayed on the screen in Cliq and add it under the respective fields in CNAME records.
- Save your changes. Changes saved will normally be resolved soon, but at times it might take up to 48 hours to resolve globally.
- After saving, come back to Cliq and click on Verify. .
Step 3
The final step is to verify DKIM. This is for email authentication and also to prevent spam and spoofing. This procedure is similar to the previous domain verifying method. You will have to copy the values on screen and configure it under TXT record in your DNS hosting provider.
- Log in to your DNS hosting provider and navigate to the admin panel.
- In admin console locate the option to update DNS records. It will mostly be termed as DNS Configuration/DNS Settings/Manage DNS.
- Locate the TXT records section.
- Copy the values from the table displayed on the screen in Cliq and add it under the respective fields in TXT records.
- Save your changes. Changes saved will normally be resolved soon, but at times it might take up to 48 hours to resolve globally.
- After saving, come back to Cliq and click on Verify. .
On verification, you will get a success message and your custom email name and id will be displayed on the screen!
