Configure Cliq in Manage Engine MDM Plus

Detailed steps on configuration:

Cliq Android configuration:

Pre-requisites

  1. Devices must be running 5.0 or later versions
  2. Devices must be provisioned as Device Owner/Profile Owner
  3. A google account to configure Android for Work

Step1:

  1. In ME MDM Plus application, go to Device Management -> App Repository -> Android for Work. 
  2. You can register using G-suite or without G-Suite based on your preference.

    2.1 Without using G-Suite: This method is suitable for organizations without a G Suite account. AfW can be configured with Google account, whereby the device accounts are automatically created. These accounts are associated to the device and any apps/configurations are hence associated to the device and not the account.

    – Click on the button Register without G-Suite followed by Configure Now
    – You will be redirected to Google Android for Work page, wherein you have to sign-in with your google mail id
    – After signing-in, click Get Started button and create an Organization.
    – Once completed, you will be re-directed to the MDM server where Android for Work is now configured. 
    After successful configuration, a work account will be added to all the enrolled devices with a notification. If the device is added after the configuration, the work account will be added during enrollment. 

    2.2 With using G-Suite: This method is suitable for organizations having a G Suite account. Ideally suitable for organizations with users having multiple devices. In such a case, the apps/configurations distributed to the users are permanently associated with the accounts(which are manually created by Administrators).

    – To configure G-Suite you need to create a service account for your Organization. This Service Account is used by MDM to push AfW-based configurations to devices.

Step2: 

  1. After configuring Android for Work, open https://play.google.com/work (make sure you are logged-in with the android for work email id)
  2. Search for Zoho Cliq app, and click on the Approve button. 
  3. After approving Cliq, go back to MDM Server, App Repository -> Sync Apps -> Sync Playstore Apps. This will display Cliq under your Apps list. 

Step 3:

  1. Click on Zoho Cliq Team Communication and go to Configuration. 
  2. In the configure email id field, you can use any of the dynamic variables that you want to display to the employee. We suggest using %email% for easy understanding.
  3. You can enable Restrict login access, if you want to restrict your employees access to Cliq. This will set and lock the email id field, and your employees will be able to access Cliq only through their specific mobile devices. 
  4. Save your configuration.
  5. Under Groups and Devices, you can distribute Zoho Cliq app to devices that you want to.

Cliq iOS configuration: 

Pre-requisites

  1. Devices must be running iOS 9.0 or later versions.
  2. Devices must be supervised.

Method 1: 

  1. In ME MDM Plus application, go to Device Management -> App Repository. Under Add App menu choose Apple Store App. 
  2. In the following screen type Zoho Cliq under App Name and select Cliq from the suggestions. 
  3. Download the .xml file given below and upload it in App Configurations, MDM server.

  4. If needed you can change the login.email value to any of the dynamic value given in the right side. This value will be displayed in the email address field when the employee signs-in. 
  5. You can enable Restrict login access, if you want to restrict your employees access to Cliq. This will set and lock the email id field, and your employees will be able to access Cliq only through their specific mobile devices. 
  6. Save your configuration.
  7. Under Groups and Devices, you can distribute Zoho Cliq app to devices that you want to. 

Method 2: 

  • If your organization has a Volume Purchase Program (VPP), then please refer this help video to configure VPP. 
  • After configuring, open Cliq from your list of apps and proceed with steps 3-7 from above Method 1.
