What is Media IP Versioning?
Media IP versioning is the process of tracking which media servers are whitelisted within an organization's network to ensure continuous and seamless connectivity. Each media server is identified by its IP address and port. It is essential for users or IT departments to whitelist these IP addresses to avoid disruptions or difficulties during meetings or calls. It is necessary to run a reachability test and update the configuration after allowing the IP ports in the organization firewall.
How admins can run the reachability test:
- Navigate to the admin panel by clicking on your profile picture.
- Under Organization, select Server Reachability.
- Click the Run Reachability Test button. You will receive a confirmation alert.
- Click Run to proceed with the test.
You will see a list displaying Ports, Media Server IP addresses, and their respective statuses: Allowed or Blocked.
Note:
- If all the IP addresses are marked as Allowed, the admin needs to update the status.
- If any of the IP addresses are Blocked, the admin should whitelist them in the firewall. Afterward, rerun the reachability test until no IP addresses are blocked.
Make sure to conduct the reachability test when connected to your organization's network.
After the server reachability test is done, update the configuration for seamless call/meeting connectivity for all users in your organization.

- Refer the following doc to know how users can run the reachability test.
- Organization admins will receive notifications when new media IP versions are released.
