How to configure role-based mobile permissions?

Roles are to set defined permissions for users on what features they can have access to based on their work. Apart from the general permissions, Zoho Cliq provides mobile specific permissions.

To access mobile specific permissions for roles, follow these steps:
  • In the Admin Panel, under Permissions menu, click and open Roles
  • Hover over the particular role and click on Permissions.

  • Click on Mobile on the top right corner to navigate to mobile specific permissions.

The various mobile permissions that you can ensure for your users are as follows,
  1. Copy message: Disabling this will not allow the members of the role to copy messages in their Android and iOS apps. By doing so, you can ensure your organization conversations from being copied and pasted in other apps.
  2. Download file: This is to restrict users from downloading images, videos and files from Cliq into their mobile devices.
  3. Share file: This is to restrict users from sharing Cliq files and images with other third party applications.
  4. Storage access: Disabling this permission will restrict the users from accessing their device's gallery and file storage to attach or send files and images.
  5. Voice message: This is to restrict users from sending voice messages in any conversation.
  6. Access in unmanaged devices: This is an EMM mobile configuration. This permission is to ensure that the users of the particular role are able to access Cliq only in managed devices. Once you disable this permission for a particular role, you must go to Organization > Mobile Access > Device Management Token, and enter a token value. Then that token value must be pushed to devices with the key cliq.dmtoken via your EMM service provider. So the devices that have this key will allow access to Cliq app. More available EMM configurations can be found here.
Note that if the permission to access in unmanaged devices is enabled for a role, then the members of that role will be able to access Cliq in any device even if you had pushed the dm token to their device.
  7. Access in jailbroken/rooted devices: This permission is to restrict members from accessing Cliq in jailbroken and rooted devices. On disabling this permission, the members belonging to role will not be able to log in to Cliq on rooted and jailbroken devices.
