How do you bulk import new users into Cliq?

Add New Users

As an admin, you can add new users to your organization in two ways:

  • Add individual users

  • Bulk import users

Add Individual Users

  1. Navigate to the Admin Panel.

  2. Under the Users & Profiles module, click Users.

  3. Click the Add User button in the top-right corner of the Users page.

Notes

Note:

  • If your organization is integrated with Zoho One, you’ll be redirected to Zoho One, where you can assign users to Cliq. You can assign users individually, by group, or select everyone.

  • If Zoho One is not integrated, the Add User form will be displayed in Cliq, where you can add new users directly.

  • If your organization is new and has no users yet, the +Invite Users option will appear next to Starred Messages in the top bar. This option will remain until your organization has 4 or more active users.

  • The user invite link sent via email will be valid for 30 days only.

Bulk Import Users

To bulk import users into your organization:

  1. On the Users page, click the Import/Export icon next to the Add User button.

  2. Select Import Users.

Step 1: Upload a CSV file

  • Drag and drop the CSV file or click Browse and select a CSV file to import.

CSV file format

  • The sheet should include columns for all the required user fields you want to upload—First Name, Email and also the custom fields defined by the admin.

  • Each column must have a header so that the uploaded details are correctly mapped to the corresponding user field.

  • Click on Sample CSV to download and view for your reference.

  • You can upload up to 25 headers, each assigned to a specific user field.

Step 2: Field Mapping

  • All your headers will be displayed against the available user fields in Cliq.

  • You can either map a header to the suggested user field or assign it to a more suitable one.

  • You can mark any user field as mandatory.

  • The email and name will be marked as mandatory by default.

  • If a mandatory field contains an error or a missing value, the user will not be imported.

  • If the field is optional and contains invalid data, the field will be skipped, but the user will still be imported.

Step 3: Finalize Import

  • User validation may take some time.

  • Once validation is complete, any entries with invalid values will be displayed along with the reason for invalidation.

  • You can then choose to either edit or delete the invalid entry.

Edit the invalid entry

  • Select Edit.

  • Assign the invalid user field to one of the available options.

  • Click Save to revalidate the entry.

Delete the invalid entry

  • Select Delete to remove the invalid entry.

  • After editing or deleting the invalid entries, click Proceed to continue.

Step 4: Confirm Import

  • A confirmation pop-up will appear if there are any invalid entries.

  • You’ll be asked whether you want to continue the import without those invalid entries.

  • Click Proceed Anyway to continue without importing the invalid entries.

  • The import progress will be displayed.

  • Once completed, your users will be added.

View Import History

  • Click the View Import History button to see details of your previous imports.

  • You can view a list of all successfully imported users.

  • You can also view and download the list of users that failed to import.
