Select the text you want to format.
Apply the following formatting options available in the pop-up:
Bold
Italics
Strike
Quote
Underline
Hyperlink
For more formatting options, select the formatting icon in the bottom-right corner.
Here, you'll see all your formatting options available. Additionally, you will find the blockquote and markdown options.

Note:
The keyboard shortcuts of each markdown will also be displayed for users to execute.
Users can undo markdown formatting using Ctrl/Cmd + Z and send markdown characters as plain text.
You can also quote message in the conversation by clicking on a word or selecting a line. This will display a quote message icon. Click on the icon to insert the selected text as a block quote, making it a reference to your message.
To format your message as a list, you can either click the Numbered List or Bullet List icon first and then type your text, or type your text first and then click the icon. To create a sub-list, press the Tab key.
In the composer, click on the M↓ icon in the top-right corner of the formatting option.
A pop-up with a list of markdowns will be available.
To format messages in:
Bold: To bold a section of the text, enclose with the asterisk (*).
Example : *Hello Jacob. How are you?*
Headings: For H1 precede the text with a # followed by a space, for H3 precede the text with ### followed by a space.
Example : # Hello Jacob. How are you?
Example : ### Hello Jacob. How are you?

Note:
You can have a maximum of six headings, and you must put a space between the hashtag and header text.
The number of hashtags in the text depends on which heading you want the text to be.
Italics: To italicize a section of the text, enclose with the underscore (_) symbol.
Example: _Hello Jacob. How are you?_
Strike: To strike a section of the text, enclose with the tilde (~) symbol .
Example: ~Hello Jacob. How are you?!~
Underline: To underline a section of the text, enclose with two underscores (__).
Example: __Hello Jacob. How are you?!__
Quote: To quote a section of the text, enclose with the backtick.
Example: `Hello Jacob. How are you?`
Blockquote: To blockquote a section of the text, use exclamatory (!) before the word/sentence.
Example: !Hello Jacob. How are you?
Hyperlink: To insert a link into display text, enclose the display text with the square bracket[ ] and the link with parentheses( ).
Example: Hello Jacob. Read this article [How to increase sales](enter url here)
Code Snippet: This creates a box that displays text inside, enclose the text with 3 backticks (```).
Example: ```Hello Jacob. How are you?```
Horizontal Line: To insert a horizontal line between lines of text, use three hyphens (---)

Tip: You can also press your Enter key twice to insert a horizontal line.
In addition to text formatting, the Zoho Cliq's text composer offers several other features for users:
Collaborate visually by attaching a whiteboard.
Attach files from your cloud storages to any conversation.
Attach and share files from your Zoho WorkDrive to any conversation.
To do so:
Click 'Share from Zoho Sheet' option.
This will open your WorkDrive with all your existing sheets. You can either search for a specific sheet using the search bar or click Create a new sheet to create from scratch.

Note: You will get a dropdown in the search bar in WorkDrive if you are a part of multiple organizations.
When creating a new sheet, enter the file name and choose the location where it should be saved.
Once the sheet is created, you can add your data to it. When you’re done, click the Share button.
You can share the sheet with a conversation or individual and set the access level directly from Cliq. If the user has edit permission, they can make changes to the sheet right within Cliq.
You can upload files from your desktop to Cliq using this option.
Select a file and click Upload.
You can enter a message and click on Share.
You can format your messages on your iOS and Android devices by doing the following:
Select the text you want to format. Tap on the Format option.
Select a formatting option from the list displayed.
The formatted text will appear in the composer before sending.
Select the text you want to format. Click on the More icon.
