How to create a thread in Cliq?

Enabling threads in Cliq

To enable Threads navigate to the Permissions section of threads by clicking on the channel icon and selecting Permissions or select Channel Info made available in Actions menu in the channel.
  1. Click on Reply Modes dropdown under Configuration
  2. Select Threads
Only the channel admins with edit access can enable threads, for more information refer the link

Notes: To specifically allow Channel Admin / Moderator / Member  in a channel to reply only in threads select  Reply in thread Action under Permissions.
To completely stop a user from sending a message in the channel disable both Reply in thread option under Configuration and Send messages under Permissions in Channel permissions.

Creating a thread

  1. Hovering over a message, will show you quick response options
  2. Select Reply in thread from those options
  3. Enter your message and send



Notes: To post a message both within the thread and in the channel of the thread: select the Post in option made available, just below the chat bar.
Based on your contextual conversation in the thread, your thread will be named by default. 


However you can further choose to rename the thread to your preference.

Renaming a thread

  1. Click on the name of the thread
  2. Rename the thread as per your preference

Actions in thread 

Clicking on the Action button in thread will show you the various actions that you can perform in the thread.
