How do I add a user to my Contacts?

When Cliq users accept your invite request, they become one of your Contacts. You may add users to your Contact list to initiate a quick chat or see their status.
There are two ways to add a user to your Contacts:
  1. Contacts in the left sidebar.
  • Click on the + icon from Contacts in the left sidebar.
  • An invite a chat contact popup appears. You can select users from the suggestions or type their name or mail id in the search bar to send invites. Select the users and click Next.

   

  • Type a personalized message and click Send Invites.
  1. Search by username(For Organization users).
  • Type the username in the search bar of the header. In the suggestions that appear, click on the usernamedirect message icon, or Chat with user button.
  • In the chat window that gets displayed, Click Add to your contacts under the username. Once you have invited the user, a banner message will pop up that says, "Contact invite sent."
  • You will see Invited displayed on the screen below the Contact name.

 

Note:
  • The user receives an invitation notification via email.
  • By default, when you accept a contact invitation in Contacts, the user is added as a Contact.
  • If the user does not already have a Zoho Cliq account, they must first sign-up before accepting your contact invitation.
  • Organizations that have below 100 users will be listed in the Contacts automatically.
  • External users will not appear in suggestions or by name; instead, you must provide their full email address. They are added only via invitation.
  • You can initiate a chat with an external user only if they are a contact.
  • Inter-DC users cannot be added as a contact.
 
Organization Policy
Communication can be established with an external user under the Free plan of Cliq, only if the admin has enabled the organization policy 'Allow chats with users who are not a part of this organization'
