How to change the scope of a channel in Zoho Cliq

To change a channel’s scope in Zoho Cliq, follow these steps:
  1. Click the channel’s profile image and select the edit icon.
  2. In the editing page, update the scope of the channel (subject to the limitations listed below).
  3. After making your updates, click Save Changes to apply the new channel scope.

Limitations  

  • You cannot change external channels to any other scope due to privacy restrictions.
  • When you convert a channel to a team channel, ensure that all participants are already members of that team; otherwise, they will be removed from the channel. A warning prompt will display the list of users who will be removed.
  • In a multi-team channel, participants must belong to at least one of the associated teams to remain in the channel.
  • When you change a channel’s scope (for example, from Personal to Organization open/closed or team), all participants will gain access to the channel’s previous messages.
