What is a Direct Message and how to initiate it?

What is a Direct Message?

Direct Messages (1-1 chat) are messages sent to an individual user in Cliq. They are used when 1-1 and private communication is preferred.

How to initiate a Direct Message in Cliq?

You can search for the user using the search bar at the top, if you are messaging them for the first time.

You can click on Chat with user to start a conversation with the user.
Once you have messaged them, you can find that user under the Direct Messages section on the left side.

If you want to message the same person again after awhile, you can search for them in the search bar in the left side panel.

You can also click the Quick Action icon near the search bar to Send a Direct Message.

You can now search for the participant that you want to message in the search bar.

Note: You can initiate a Direct Message by clicking on a user in the Remote Work view to open the chat window.
