What actions can I perform on a message and are they customizable?

Cliq allows you to perform a set of actions on messages called the Message Actions. When you hover over a message, you will have various options near the highlighted message.

What are the available message actions?

  • The first three icons are Thumbs upSuper and Heavy plus emojis by default, which can be customized.

  • The fourth icon is the Reactions icon, which allows you to respond to a message using Live Zomojis, Zomojis, Emojis and Custom Emojis.

  • The Reply icon (arrow pointing to the left) is the fifth icon, which can be used to reference the selected message and reply.

  • The Kebab icon is the last option, which has more message actions for you to perform.

  • You will find SelectForward and Copy. The Select icon selects your current message. The Forward icon helps to forward the message/file to 1-1 chats, group chats, channels and bots. The Copy icon copies the message to the device clipboard.

  • Fork from here - You can use this action to fork a message and start a new conversation.

  • Set reminder - You can set a reminder for a particular message.

  • Mark as unread - This action will close the chat and mark the message as unread. You will receive a notification for the unread messages.

  • Edit - This action allows you to edit your message. The time frame to allow messages to be edited ranges from 1 minute to 730 days, which can be customized only by the admin.

  • Delete - You can use this option to delete the message that you have sent. You will see "This message has been deleted" once you delete the message. The time frame to allow messages to be deleted ranges from 1 minute to 730 days, which can be customized only by the admin.

  • Copy message URL - This action copies the URL of the message to the clipboard.

  • Pin message - You can use this action to pin a message to the top of the chat.

  • More... - This action allows you to use custom and external message actions available to you based on your integrations and extensions.

You can check out the Message Actions page in Developer docs to learn how to configure and develop custom message actions.
