FAQs on migrating from Google Chat to Zoho Cliq

1. How do I initiate the export?

As an admin, go to admin.google.com and start the export from there.

2. Will the export be downloaded automatically as a ZIP file?

No. The admin must download the export manually.

3. What are the limitations of Google Chat migration?

  • You cannot import certain items shared directly from Google services, such as Drive or Calendar, as Google does not provide public URLs.
  • You cannot migrate assigned tasks.
  • The system imports only chats, conversations, and shared files.

4. Do we need a Python file to run the script?

Yes, the latest version of Python is required.

5. How to check if the Python file has been installed successfully?

You can execute the command sudo pip3 install requests

6. How to import the file once the export is completed?

The system will download an export ZIP file named as specified during the export. You must import this file from the Cliq Admin Panel.

7. Where can we see the error logs if the migration stops in the middle?

There will be a demo.log file that you can check to identify the errors. You can also share this file with the support team for further analysis.
