How can a user enable read receipts in Zoho Cliq?

A user can make sure that their messages are seen by the recipients using the read receipts in Zoho Cliq. To enable/disable the read receipts, do the following:
  1. Go to Profiles & Settings and select Privacy.
  1. Under "Read Receipt," you will have a toggle button to enable and disable them.
  1. When a user enables read receipts, they will be able to see if their messages have been seen by other users. If the user has disabled their read receipts, the user will not be able to see if others have read the message and also others will not be able to see if they have read the message.
  2. Users are listed into "Read by" or "Yet to Read", depending on whether they have read the message.

Here are some examples of how read receipts work based on the type of conversation:

1-1 conversation 

Case 1: When read receipts are enabled 

When you enable read receipts, a single tick will be displayed when you post a message to a user. The single tick will turn into a double blue tick when the user reads your message. You will also be able to see the time and date the user read the message.

Case 2: When read receipts are disabled

When you disable the read receipts, only a single tick will be displayed, even after the user has read your message. You will not be able to see any information on when the user has read it since the receipts are disabled.


Group chats and channels 

Case 1: When at least one user has enabled read receipt 

When a message is posted in a group chat or a channel, a single tick will be displayed, and if at least one user who has enabled read receipt sees the message, a double blue tick will be displayed, and the users who have enabled read receipt and seen the messages will be displayed under the Read by list.

Case 2: When users have disabled their read receipt 

When the users disable the read receipts, only a single tick will be displayed even after they have read the message. Also, even if the users have seen the message, it will be displayed under the Yet to Read list.
Posting a message in a group chat or channel is considered a reply, and hence all the previous messages will be marked as read.

Threads

Case 1: When a user has disabled read receipt and has posted a message on a thread in the channel. 

Posting a message in a channel from a thread is considered a reply, and hence all the messages before that will be marked as read.
