Understand the default trial
Every new community starts with a 15-day premium trial. During this period, you can explore all the available features in Zoho CommunitySpaces.
What happens when the trial ends
If the trial expires, or if the subscription renewal fails, the community automatically switches to the free version. When that happens, an Upgrade notification banner appears at the top of the community.
If the community switches to the free version, all community data is archived. Only the community superhost and hosts can log in and access the community in the free version to extend the trial or upgrade to a paid plan.
When the community is upgraded or the trial is reinstated, the data will be accessible once more, and members will be able to log in
Extending the trial period
As a superhost, you have two ways to continue after the community reaches the free version:
- Click Subscription from the gear icon in the top-right corner if you want to renew or upgrade the community.

- Click Extend Trial Period from the same menu if you want more time to evaluate the premium trial.

Confirm the trial extension
- Click Extend Trial Period.
- Click Extend Trial in the confirmation window.

Your premium trial will be extended by an additional 15 days. The extension will be applied immediately, so you can continue evaluating Zoho CommunitySpaces without interruption.
Checking the extended trial status
As soon as the extension is applied, check the top-right corner of the community to see how many days remain before the extended trial expires.
Once the extension is active, you can continue experimenting with different plans during the trial.
Switching between trial plans
There are three ways to open the current trial plan. Click View Plans, click the Upgrade tag, or go to Subscription under the gear icon in the top-right corner. From there, you can review the features in your current trial plan, compare editions, and decide which plan best suits your community.
Choose another trial plan
- Review the available trial plans.

- Click Try now at the bottom of the plan you want to test.

Plan switch
After the switch, your community will include only the features associated with that plan, and that version will reflect on the Subscription option.
Subscribing to a plan
- Click the gear icon in the top-right corner of the community.
- Select Subscription to open the Subscription page.

Finalize the subscription
Once you have evaluated the available editions and identified the plan that best suits your needs, click Upgrade to complete the subscription from the Zoho Store page.
