Understand what this section controls   

Open Community Settings and go to Apps & Features to use Rename Module and Reorder Apps.

These options help a superhost shape how members experience the community in day-to-day navigation. While Manage Apps decides what is available, Rename Module and Reorder Apps help decide how those apps are presented.

This is useful when you want to:

• Make module names more familiar to your audience

• Align the terminology with your brand or workflow

• Surface the most important apps earlier in the left panel

• Make navigation clearer on both web and mobile

Rename modules   

Use Rename Module when you want to customize how module names appear across the community.

In the module list, click the pencil icon at the end of the module row to rename that module.

When the rename window opens:

1. Choose the Language.
   
   
   
   

2. Enter the singular form of the module name.
   
   
   
   

3. Enter the plural form of the module name.
   
   
   
   

4. Click Rename.
   
   

If your community supports members in multiple languages, use Add Language to enter the module name in other languages as well.

This ensures that the renamed module is shown appropriately based on the language each member has selected in their preferences.

This gives a superhost the flexibility to align module names with the community’s terminology, branding, or audience, while also making the experience more natural for multilingual communities. For example, a superhost may want to rename a module so it matches:

• Internal terminology already familiar to members

• Customer-facing terminology that feels more natural

• A branded naming style used across the rest of the organization

The names you enter here are reflected on the left apps menu both in web and mobile, so members will see the updated naming in their normal usage of the platform.

 Even after renaming a module, Community Settings still shows the default module names for clarity. 

This helps avoid confusion for administrators while still giving members a more customized experience.

Reorder apps   

Use Reorder Apps to organize the order of apps shown in the left panel.

This helps a superhost control which modules appear earlier and which appear later in the navigation flow.

This is especially useful when:

• Certain apps should be more prominent for members

• Some modules are used more frequently than others

• You want the app order to reflect the community’s primary use cases

Simply drag and drop the module at the desired position to organize it. By reordering apps, you can make the most important parts of the community easier to reach without members needing to scroll or search as much.

Set landing order separately for web and mobile   

Within Reorder Apps, you can configure the app arrangement separately for:

• Web
  
  
  
  

• Mobile
  
  

This gives a superhost more flexibility, because the best navigation order on desktop may not be the best order on mobile.

You can also set the default landing page separately for these environments, so the experience is optimized based on how members usually access the community.

This is useful when:

• Mobile users need faster access to different apps than web users

• Your community is primarily used on one platform and needs a platform-specific navigation priority

• You want the first-touch experience to feel more intentional across devices
  
  

 Understand how member customization affects app order   

The order you set in Reorder Apps applies only to members who have not customized their own app order yet.

Members can still:

• Reorder apps for themselves

• Set their own preferred landing page

This is important for a superhost to understand, as the configuration here sets the default structure, not a permanent lock for every user.

In other words, Reorder Apps helps define the starting navigation experience for the community, but members still retain personal flexibility once they begin customizing their own layout.

This gives a good balance between administrative structure and individual user preference.
