Creating and publishing a landing page

Creating and publishing a landing page

Understand what Landing Page helps you create

Open Community Settings and go to Landing Page to create a public, pre-login webpage for your community.

This section is especially useful for a superhost, as it helps introduce the community before users sign in or join. The landing page acts as a customizable public-facing page where you can explain what the community is about, what value members can gain from joining, and what makes the community worth exploring.

Know who can create a landing page

Only the superhost can create and edit the community’s landing page.

This makes the landing page a controlled, brand-facing part of the community experience, rather than something that can be changed by all users.

Open the landing page editor

To begin customizing the landing page:
  1. Go to Settings.
  2. Click Landing Page
  3. Click Edit in the top-right corner.

When the editor opens, the default landing page is shown with a header section already in place.

Customize the header section

Use Header with Description to edit the top section of the landing page.

From this section, you can customize:
  1. The text
  2. The colors
  3. A picture or video

This is the most important part of the landing page, because it is the first thing visitors see. For a superhost, this section is where you can set the tone of the community, communicate the main purpose clearly, and make the page more visually engaging.

Add more sections to the page

Click + Add section when you want to build out the landing page beyond the default header.
When you add a section, you can choose from four section templates.

You can use additional sections to highlight different parts of your community, such as:
  1. Member stories
  2. Upcoming events
  3. The benefits of joining
  4. Important community information
This gives a superhost flexibility to shape the landing page based on the type of community being built and the story the page should tell to new visitors.

Save your landing page changes

Once you finish customizing the page, click Save in the top-right corner.

Saving lets you keep your changes without making the landing page live immediately. This is useful when you want to keep refining the page before publishing it publicly.

Publish the landing page changes

When the page is ready to go live, click Enable in the top-right corner to publish it.

This is the step that makes the landing page visible to others. Until the page is enabled, people cannot view it.

Understand how the landing page works after publishing

Once published, the landing page becomes the public-facing page of your community.

If your community uses a custom domain, the landing page appears first when users access that domain. From there, new users can Sign Up and existing members can Log in to access the community.

Notes
If your organization already has a front-facing website, the ideal approach is to hyperlink the community’s Sign Up and Sign In URLs within your existing website. This helps redirect your website traffic naturally into the gated community without depending only on the landing page as the discovery route.

This gives a superhost a simple way to maintain a public introduction to the community while still being able to update it whenever needed.
