Adding Developers
This guide will help you with the following:

There are several benefits to adding developers to your portal or an app:
Collaboration: Multiple developers can work together on complex projects, sharing knowledge and skills.
Efficiency: Distribute tasks among team members to speed up development and reduce time-to-market.
Specialization: Bring in developers with specific expertise for different aspects of your solution.
Scalability: As your projects grow, additional developers can help manage increased workload.
Knowledge sharing: Foster a collaborative environment where developers can learn from each other.
Add a Developer to the Portal
A portal is your central workspace in the Zoho Developer Console. It represents your dedicated environment where you can create, manage, and deploy various solutions. Within a portal, you can manage multiple apps, invite developers, and collaborate with your team.
Once you have added a developer to a portal, you can add them to any of your solution. You can add a maximum number of five developers to the portal.

To add a developer to your portal, follow these steps:
- Log in to the Zoho Developer Console and click Vertical Solutions.
- Click the Invite Developers icon in the top right-hand corner.
- In the All Developers page, click Invite Developer.
- In the Invite Developer pop-up, enter the Name and Email of the person you want to add as a developer and click Invite.
An invitation email will be sent to the specified email address. Until the invitation is accepted by the recipient, a Not Confirmed tag will appear next to their name. After the invitation is accepted, the developer will be listed as Confirmed in the All Developers page.
You can add the developers in a portal to any app. For details of how to do this, refer to the next section.
Add a Developer to an App
If you add a new developer directly to an app and they are not already part of the portal, they will automatically be added to the portal as well. The maximum limit of five developers applies to both the portal and apps combined, including confirmed and unconfirmed developers.
To add a developer to an app:
- Log in to the Zoho Developer Console and click Vertical Solutions.
- Select the solution you'd like to modify and click Edit.
- Click Add Developer in the left panel.
- In the Associated Developers page, click Add Developer.
- In the Add Developer pop-up, you can either add a new developer or add an existing developer.
Add a new developer
- To add a new developer, click click here.
- In the Add User pop-up, enter the User Name and Email Address of the person you want to add as a developer and click Invite.
- An invitation email will be sent to the specified email address. Until the invitation is accepted by the recipient, a Not Confirmed tag will appear next to their name.
When the invite is accepted, the user will be added as a developer in the app and the portal.
Add an existing Developer
- To add a developer who is already in the portal, select the developer and click Add.
Note
- You can add up to five developers to a portal or app, including confirmed and unconfirmed developers.
- Unconfirmed developers count toward the limit but cannot contribute until they accept their invitation.
- If all the developers in the portal have been added to your app, you will see the following message when you click Add Developer.
- By default, the user who owns the account will be added as a developer.
- Once the maximum number of developers has been reached, you cannot send any more developer invites.
- The developer limit includes both confirmed and unconfirmed developers.
- You cannot add an existing un-confirmed developer to an app.
- Removing a developer from an app does not impact their status in the portal.
Manage Developers
You can view a list of the developers added to your portal or to an app.
To view a list of the developers in a portal:
- Log in to the Zoho Developer Console and click Vertical Solutions.
- Click the Invite Developers [] icon in the top right-hand corner. The list is displayed in the All Developers page.
To view a list of the developers in an app:
- Log in to the Zoho Developer Console and click Vertical Solutions.
- Select the solution you'd like to modify and click Edit.
- Click Add Developer in the left panel. The list is displayed in the Associated Developers page.
You can delete a developer from the list of developers in your portal or app by hovering over a row and clicking the Delete icon. The default user cannot be deleted. Deleting a developer from a app does not delete them from the portal.
