Configuring SEO for your portal

Your content within the public portals can be organized for search engine indexing, allowing search engines to read and display your content in their search results. You have the ability to control the SEO settings, determining how your content is crawled and specifying which pages should be featured in the search results.

Configuring robots.txt

Within the robots.txt file, you can specify links that the search engine should or should not crawl. This ensures that certain resources in your public portal remain indexed or unindexed and for the search engine results.

To configure robots.txt for your portal:
  1. Navigate to the portal from the Custom Portal tab.
  2. Go to the SEO tab and navigate to the Robots.txt section.
  3. Enter the contents for robots.txt and click Submit.

Setting up mapping id

Google Analytics, a web analytics service provided by Google, monitors and reports website traffic. Your Google account is assigned a unique identifier, which can be mapped to your site to load Google Analytics parameters. This enables you to gather visitor insights through Google Analytics and monitor the performance of your pages.

To setup google analytics and webmaster tools:
  1. Navigate to the portal from the Custom Portal tab.
  2. Go to the SEO tab and navigate to the Google analytics and webmaster information section.
  3. Enter the Analytics Measurement ID and Container ID.
  4. Click Save.


Configuring sitemap

A sitemap informs search engines about the structure of your website's pages. It includes metadata detailing when each page was last updated, the frequency of changes, and the importance of each page. This contributes to SEO by facilitating search engines in discovering your site's content more efficiently, improving its inclusion in search results.

To configure sitemap settings:
  1. Navigate to the portal from the Custom Portal tab.
  2. Go to the SEO tab and navigate to the XML sitemap section.
  3. Click Generate Sitemap.
  4. If there are any changes in your site, the site map will be scheduled for update.
  5. If you want to update the sitemap before the scheduled date, you can click Update Sitemap.
