Searching in Zoho Learn
Zoho Learn's powerful search tool allows you to efficiently find keywords within spaces, manuals, articles, and even documents attached to articles. This article will help you understand and make the most of the search functionality in Zoho Learn.
Basic search
The basic search function enables you to find keywords within various elements of Zoho Learn:
- Spaces: Search across different spaces for the keyword.
- Manuals: Locate specific manuals containing the keyword.
- Articles: Find articles that mention the keyword.
- Attachments: Search within documents attached to articles.
For example, if you search for the keyword "customer," Zoho Learn will look for this keyword across all your spaces, manuals, articles, and any attached documents.
Specific searches
If you know the name of the article, manual, or space, you can search directly using this information. Alternatively, if you only know a keyword inside a specific article, Zoho Learn's search tool will help you locate it.

Search as you type
Our search tool features a "search as you type" function, providing real-time search results as you enter the keyword. This helps you quickly find relevant content without needing to type the entire keyword.
Search based on synonyms
Zoho Learn's search tool supports synonym-based search and also recognizes misspelled words , broadening the scope of your search results to include related terms.
Search by tags
Tags can be added to articles to improve search results. To utilize this feature:
1. Tag articles with keywords and phrases readers commonly use.
2. Use the search by tag feature to find articles associated with a specific tag.
3. Clicking on a tag will display all articles with that tag.

Advanced search
The advanced search feature allows you to apply filters to narrow down your search results. You can:
- Search for keywords within specific manuals or spaces.
- Apply filters to search articles by user, manual, or space.
For example, to search for articles authored by a user named Charles within the Marketing Space, use the advanced search feature to filter by user and space.
Recent searches
Zoho Learn keeps track of your recent searches. Up to 10 recent searches are listed within the search window, and you can clear this list if needed.
Note: Natural Language Processing (NLP) based search will be available soon.
How to use the search tool:
1. Enter your search term in the search box and press Enter.
2. Articles, spaces, manuals, and files containing the keyword will be displayed.
3. For an exact term search, click the drop-down menu on the search bar and choose "exact search."
4. Use the advanced search feature to narrow down results based on articles, manuals, spaces, files, or courses.
5. Sort the search results by relevance or recency.
