Manage Permissions for Pages

Manage Permissions for Pages

Manage permissions to control what system users can do and who can access individual pages and folders.

The Manage Permissions dialog includes System Permission and Website Permission tabs. The options available to you may vary based on the user's role and the resource being managed.

System Permission

Use system permissions to control the actions that a system user can perform on the website. The available permissions include options such as View, Edit, Delete, Publish, and Review.

The system permission model is role-based. Administrators have broad access to resources, while Authors can manage their own content and assigned permissions. Contributors can access only the resources and actions explicitly assigned to them.
Step 1

Website Permission

Use website permissions to control who can access an individual page or folder.

You can either:

  • Inherit from parent: Use the permission settings of the parent folder.

  • Restricted to roles: Allow access only to users with the selected roles.

For resources within folders, permissions can be inherited from the parent folder. Individual resources can also override the inherited settings.
Step 2
