1. You can add new work items to your epic or add existing work items.
   
2. Adding a work item to an epic allows you to create a new work item from within the epic module.
   
3. Associating work items allows you to select existing work items from your active, completed, or upcoming sprints or your backlog and add it to the epic.

Add new work item

1. Open the required project.
   
2. Go to Epic module.
   
3. Select the required epic in the active folder.
   
4. Click the dropdown in the Create button.
   
   
5. Select Create Work Item. The item creation form will appear.
   
6. Enter item name and description.
   
7. Select a sprint to add the item or select backlog.
   
8. Enter item details like type, priority, status, estimation points, etc.
   
9. Click the Create button. The item will be added to the selected epic and will also to the selected sprint or backlog.

1. You can add the item to the epic while creating the item in the backlog by selecting the required epic in the creation form.
   
2. You can add items from the backlog using the bulk update action.

Only the Admin, Project Manager, and Epic Owner can add new work items to an epic.

Associate work item

1. Open the required project.
   
2. Go to Epic module.
   
3. Select the required epic in the active folder.
   
4. Click the dropdown in the Create button.
   
   
5. Select Associate Work Item. The Associate Items window will appear.
   
6. Select the backlog or sprint and the epic from which you need to select items.
   
7. Select the items from the listing.
   
8. Click the Associate button. The selected items will be added to the epic.
