Project sync
1. What is the limit to map projects from Zoho Projects to Zoho Sprints?
The number of projects you can map is based on your subscription plan in both the products.
If both applications are in the same plan:
Zoho Projects and Zoho Sprints are in FREE PLAN - 2 projects
Zoho Projects and Zoho Sprints are in PREMIER PLAN - Unlimited projects
If both applications are in a different plan:
Zoho Projects in FREE and Zoho Sprints in PREMIER PLAN - Unlimited projects
Zoho Projects in STANDARD and Zoho Sprints in PREMIER PLAN - Unlimited projects

2. Can I map an existing project from Zoho Projects to Zoho Sprints?
Yes, you can map an existing project from Zoho Projects to Zoho Sprints. You can edit the project and enable Add Projects to Zoho Sprints.
- Navigate to the exiting project in Zoho Projects.
- Click Open Details at the top panel next to the project name.
- Click the Sprints icon at the right panel.
- Click Add project to Zoho Sprints.
The project gets mapped to Zoho Sprints and the Sprint dashboard is displayed. 3. What happens when I archive the mapped project from Zoho Sprints?
When you archive a mapped project in Zoho Sprints, the mapping will be removed even though the project is active in Zoho Projects. If you archive a mapped project in Zoho Projects, mapping will not be removed. Only if the project is deleted from the archives in Zoho Projects will the entire mapping will be removed.
4. What happens when I trash a mapped project in Zoho Projects?
When you move a mapped project to trash, the mapping will be disabled. And, if the project is deleted then the mapping will be removed.
5. Can I map a project template and project group from Zoho Projects to Zoho Sprints?
No, you cannot map a project template or the project group.
Work item sync
1. Are work items synced automatically when I map an existing project to Zoho Sprints?
When you map an existing project to Zoho Sprints the work items in it will not be automatically mapped. You have to map the work items individually to create a sync with Zoho Sprints.
2. How do I remove the sync between the work items from Zoho Sprints to Zoho Projects?
Deleting the work item in Zoho Projects will remove the sync. The deleted work item will appear in Zoho Sprints and users can carry out operations, which will not reflect in Zoho Projects.
3. Why can't I delete the attachment for a synced work item?
Attachments are specific to each application. You cannot delete attachments that are uploaded into Zoho Projects. You can only view or download it.
4. What happens when I move a synced work item to a different project?
Moving a mapped work item to a different project will remove its sync with the current mapped project. You cannot remap the work item. Instead, you can add a new work item and sync it to the other application.
5. How are subitems synced from Zoho Sprints to Zoho Projects?
Subitems are added as individual tasks in Zoho Projects and vice-versa. The hierarchy will not be synced in either of the applications. Every work item you sync will be treated as an individual work item.
6. Can we sync cloned work items?
No, the clone will be treated as a separate work item. It will not be automatically synced to Zoho Projects. You can only add the cloned work item to Zoho Projects.
7. Can I edit the custom fields in Zoho Projects from Zoho Sprints?
No, you cannot edit the custom fields added from another application.
8. I have closed the task in Zoho Projects but it is in open status in Zoho Sprints. How do I sync status of mapped work items?
You cannot sync status updates for mapped work items. Status changes are product specific. In order to maintain a steady progress of the work items in its application, status updates are not mapped.
Log hour sync
1. Will the timesheet approval status be synced in both applications?
Yes, timesheet approval status defined in both applications will be synced and—based on the approval and pending status—the log hours are mapped.
2. Why are log hours not synced to Zoho Projects?
Zoho Projects restricts log hours to 24 hours per day. In Zoho Sprints, we don't have any limit for log hours. If you logged more than 24 hours in a day, the log hours will be added to Zoho Sprints and will not be synced to Zoho Projects.
Note: You can also customize log hour restrictions in Zoho Projects. If the hours logged exceed the customized limit, the log hours will not be synced to Zoho Projects.
3. When I try to log hours in past dates, it gets added in Zoho Sprints but isn't synced to Zoho Projects. How do I work out this sync?
Based on the time log settings defined in Zoho Projects, the log hours are synced from Zoho Sprints to Zoho Projects. But, even if the future is "Allow" in Zoho Projects, log hours will not be synced to Zoho Sprints. Zoho Sprints will restrict log hours to future dates.
4. Can I edit or delete log hours after generating an invoice in Zoho Projects?
No, once the log hours are added for invoice generation, you cannot modify or delete the log hours in Zoho Sprints.
5. Will timers sync in both applications?
No, timers are product-specific and you cannot sync the timers added in both applications. Once you stop the timer, the total logged hours will be synced to the other application. This applies to both the products.
6. Can we sync log hours to past and future dates?
Logging hours for past and future dates is based on restrictions in Zoho Projects.
Case 1: Past = Allow and Future = Allow
Function:
- You cannot log hours for future dates in Zoho Sprints.
- You can log hours for past dates if it falls after the project's start date till the current date.
Case 2: Past = Don't Allow and Future = Allow
Function:
- You cannot log hours for future dates in Zoho Sprints.
Case 3: Past = Allow and Future = Don't Allow
Function:
- You can log hours for past dates if it falls after the project's start date till the current date.
Case 4: Past = Don't Allow and Future = Don't Allow
Function:
- In Zoho Sprints, you can add log hours for past dates if it falls after the project's start date till the current date. But, it will not be synced to Zoho Projects.
Case 5: Past = Custom Date and Future = Custom Date
Function:
- In Zoho Sprints, you can add log hours for past dates if it falls after the project's start date till the current date. If your log hours fall under the specified Past Date settings that you've defined in Zoho Projects, then the log hours are synced to Zoho Projects.
User Sync
1. What happens if I don't activate the synced Zoho Projects user in Zoho Sprints?
The user remains in the 'Inactive' status and will not be able to add work items, log hours, perform further operations. You can assign the user to work items, but they can neither view nor perform any action until they get activated in Zoho Sprints.
2. How do I know the user is confirmed in Zoho Sprints?
Once you activate the Zoho Projects user, they will receive an invitation email to confirm their account. Only if the user confirms the email they can start working with Zoho Sprints.
3. Can I sync a new user added from Zoho Sprints to Zoho Projects?
No, you cannot sync a new user from Zoho Sprints to Zoho Projects, but a new user added from Zoho Projects will be synced to Zoho Sprints. That said, the user will remain in the 'Inactive' state. Only after confirmation will the user be moved to an active state.
4. Can I delete a Zoho Projects user from Zoho Sprints?
No, you cannot delete a synced user added from Zoho Projects in Zoho Sprints. You need to delete the user in Zoho Projects and then delete the user in Zoho Sprints. However, you can retain users in Zoho Sprints while deleting them from Zoho Projects.
