Xero extension
Xero, a cloud-based accounting software, has a variety of tools that help manage a project's financial operations. When you integrate Xero with Zoho Sprints, your project and the related work items along with logged hours will be synced with Xero. You can easily navigate to Xero from Zoho Sprints to create invoices for the respective work items, timesheets, or project.
Availability : Premier, Enterprise and Zoho One plan
Accessibility : Based on the permission provided by the Workspace owner while installing the extension.
Install Xero extension
- Click the gear icon
at the top-right. The settings window will appear.
- Click All under the Marketplace section. The listing page will appear.
- Select Xero for Zoho Sprints.
- Check the privacy preferences and click Install.
- Select your project and accessibility preferences and click Install Now.
- Login to your Xero account with the Xero credentials and click Login.
- Authorize the connections and triggers.
- Now, select the Xero organization to be mapped with Zoho Sprints.
- Click Associate.
Once done, your Xero extension is installed and enabled in your Zoho Sprints account.
Widget Location
This extension can be accessed in the below mentioned locations:
- Project right navigation bar
- Item right navigation bar
- Timesheet right navigation bar
Sync Project with Xero
To access the widget in all the above mentioned locations, you'll first need to sync the project with Xero projects.
From create new project page
If you are creating a new project in Zoho Sprints, you'll have the option to sync this new project by adding the respective project directly in Xero as well.
- Navigate to the All Projects page.
- Click the drop-down beside the Create button at the top right and select Project.
- Enter the project details like Project name, Start date, End date, and other such fields.
- Click the Add to Other apps button and select Add to Xero.
- Click Create.
Now, the newly created project will be synced with Xero.
From project details page
You can sync the existing Zoho Sprints project in Xero by following the steps below:
- Go to the project in Zoho Sprints.
- Hover near the project name to view the View Details button.
- Click the Xero widget in the project right navigation bar.

Select Xero Contact in the Xero extension page, or you can create a new one.
- Project name and Deadline will be fetched from the Sprints Project details and prefilled in this Xero form.
- Click Create Xero Project.
Now, your Sprints project will be synced with Xero.
Sync Work Items with Xero
From create new work item page
You can sync the newly created work items directly with Xero.
- Navigate to a project.
- Click the drop-down beside the Create button at the top right and select Create Item.
- Enter the item details like Item name, Start date, End date, duration, and other such fields.
- Click the Add to Other apps button and select Add to Xero.
- Click Create.
The newly created work item will be synced directly with Xero.
From the work item details page
- Go to the Xero synced project.
- Open a work item.
- Click the Xero widget in the item right navigation bar.
- Select Task Name, Charge Type, and enter the Charge rate.
- Click Create Xero Task.
Now, the task created from within the Zoho Sprints in Xero extension page will be synced with Xero.
Sync Log hours as Time entries in Xero
From the Add Log Hours form
- Go to the specific work item.
- Switch to the Log Hours section.
- In the Add Log Hours page, enter the log time.
- Click the Add to Other apps button and select Add to Xero.
- The Add to Xero section will list the Xero fields related to the task.
- Click Create.
From the log hours details page
- Go to the specific work item.
- Switch to the Log Hours section.
- Click the existing log hour.
- Click the Xero widget in the log hours right navigation bar.
- Click the Create Xero Time button.
The logged hour will be synced with Xero as well.
Once the entity data is synced with Xero, you can easily create invoices directly from within Xero. Click on the Xero widget located in the right navigation panel of the entity in Zoho Sprints. You'll see a hyperlinked entity name; clicking this link will take you straight to the corresponding page in Xero, where you can proceed to generate invoices seamlessly.
Note
- Sync scenario:
- Any changes made to the entity (Projects or Log Hours or Tasks) in Zoho Sprints will be updated in Xero except for deletion.
- Any changes made in Xero will not be synced in Zoho Sprints, including the delete action.
- When creating a time entry in Xero, we use the Xero User ID of the user logging the hours. This is matched with the email address in Zoho Sprints. Only the log date and duration of the time entry are synced from Zoho Sprints to Xero.
- If the mapped organization is changed, the old synced data will not be removed or migrated from the old organization. Thereon, only the new projects created will be synced with the new organization.
Remove authorization for the Xero extension
If you want to stop the app from syncing data from Zoho Sprints to Xero using your credentials, you can select the Remove Authorization option.
To remove Xero authorization:
- Click the gear icon at the top-right. The settings window will appear.
- Click All under the Marketplace section. The listing page will appear.
- Click Xero for Zoho Sprints.
- In the extension details page, switch to the Authorization tab in the right pane.
- Click the Remove button beside the Connection field.
- Confirm your action and click Remove. You'll be redirected to the Connections page.
- Hover over the Xero connection and click Revoke.
- Click Revoke in the confirmation screen.
To remove Zoho OAuth authorization:
- Click the gear icon at the top-right. The settings window will appear.
- Click All under the Marketplace section. The listing page will appear.
- Click Xero for Zoho Sprints.
- In the extension details page, switch to the Authorization tab in the right pane.
- Click the Remove button beside the Connection field. You'll be redirected to the Connections page.
- Hover over the Xero connection and click Revoke.
- Click Revoke in the confirmation screen.
Disable Xero extension
To disable the extension:
- Click the gear icon at the top-right. The settings window will appear.
- Click All under the Marketplace section. The listing page will appear.
- Click Xero for Zoho Sprints.
- Click Disable.
Disabling the extension will temporarily stop the extension from running and can be enabled again anytime when it is required.
Uninstall Xero extension
To remove this extension from your workspace completely, you can uninstall the extension.
To uninstall the extension:
- Click the gear icon at the top-right. The settings window will appear.
- Click All under the Marketplace section. The listing page will appear.
- Click Xero for Zoho Sprints.
- Click Uninstall.
