Add or associate items to release
- You can add new work items to your release or add existing work items.
- Adding a work item to a release allows you to create a new work item from within the release module.
- Associating work items allows you to select existing work items from your active, completed, or upcoming sprints or your backlog and add it to the release.
Add new work item
To add new work item from release module:
- Open the required project.
- Go to Release module.

- Click the dropdown in the Create button.
- Select Create Work Item. The item creation form will appear.
- Enter item name and description.
- Select a sprint to add the item or select backlog.
- Enter item details like type, priority, status, estimation points, etc.
- Select the release.
- Click the Create button. The item will be added to the selected release and will also to the selected sprint or backlog.
Alternatively,
- You can add the item to the release while creating the item in the backlog by selecting the required release in the creation form.
- You can navigate to the release details page and click the (+) icon to add new item.
Associate work item
To associate an existing work item to an epic:
- Open the required project.
- Go to the Release module.
- Click the dropdown in the Create button.

- Select Associate Work Item. The Associate Items window will appear.
- Select the backlog or sprint the from which you need to select items.
- Select epic, if applicable.
- Select the items from the listing.
- Select the release to associate items.
- Click the Associate button. The selected items will be added to the release.
Alternatively,
- You can associate items from the backlog using the bulk update action.
- You can navigate to the release details page and click the (+) icon to associate an item.
