Associate releases with sprints
Release planning and management plays a vital role in agile product management. They help plan, coordinate, and execute iterations and enhancements in your product and deliver them periodically to your customers or users. Associating release with sprints, enable you to attach all items belonging to that sprints to that release to track and manage items belonging to that sprint under the associated release. This enables the sprint items to be completed by that release.

- You can associate one release to a sprint. Work items of the sprint will automatically be mapped to the associated release.
- Items that are created or moved to a sprint that is associated with a release will automatically be mapped to that release.
- Updates made to the associated release are automatically applicable to the items of that sprint
- Item bulk update does not allow the release associated with the sprint to be removed.
- Items that are moved from one sprint to another have the release association of both the sprints, if applicable.
Associate release while creating new sprint
To associate release while creating a sprint:
- Open the required project.
- Go to Backlog.
- Click the Create button. The sprint creation form will appear.
- Enter sprint details.
- Select the required release to be associated with the sprint.

- Click the Create button. The created sprint will be associated with the release.
Associate release while updating sprint details
To update release in a sprint:
- Open the required project.
- Go to the Sprint Backlog or Board.
- Click the name of the sprint to be edited. The sprint details page will appear.
- Select the required release from the Release dropdown.

- Click the Update button to save changes.
