Zoho Voice supports four types of numbers:

Personal
Personal Unlimited
Local
Toll-Free

Personal Number

A personal number is a direct and user-specific number that can only be assigned to one individual user. These numbers are both country-specific and area-specific, having the capability of handling one call at a time.
Personal numbers can be used for receiving and making international calls.
To purchase a personal number, you must submit:

A local address proof for the requested area code.
Business Registration Letter.

Note: Some countries may require additional documentation based on local regulations.

Call Charges:

Personal Unlimited

A Personal Unlimited Number functions like a personal number, but allows unlimited free local inbound and outbound calls for the assigned user. These numbers are country-specific and can be purchased with the required area code.
Personal unlimited numbers can handle only one call at a time.
When someone calls your personal unlimited number or you make an outbound call, there are no charges to you. However, the caller or receiver will be charged based on their calling plan.

To purchase a personal unlimited number, you must submit:

A local address proof for the requested area code.
Business Registration Letter.

Local Number

Local numbers are similar to personal numbers, but can be assigned to multiple users and can handle multiple calls simultaneously.
They are typically used by sales and support teams, where a single number can be shared among multiple users through call queues or IVRs (Interactive Voice Response systems).

To purchase a local number, you must submit:

A local address proof for the requested area code.
Business Registration Letter.

Toll-Free Number

Toll-free numbers let the callers/customers call you for free, with all charges billed to you (only you will be charged for incoming calls).
Incoming call charges for toll-free numbers will be slightly higher than the incoming call rates for local numbers, since the caller is not charged for that call.
Toll-free numbers are reachable inside the country only.

Number Portability

You can port your numbers from your existing provider to Zoho Voice. Porting is supported only for the same number type i.e., You can port a local number into a local number only. You cannot change the number type while porting. Read more on number porting here.
