Webinars rely on uninterrupted audio and video to deliver a smooth, engaging experience. If your microphone, speaker, or camera isn’t working as expected in Zoho Webinar, this guide will walk you through the most common browser and system-level issues and how to fix them quickly.
1. Track Start Error or Not Readable Error
Why this happens:
Another application or browser tab (especially in Firefox) is using your mic or camera.
Audio/video devices may be disabled in your system's device manager.
In macOS Mojave or later, permissions may not be granted at the OS level.
Solution:
Close other apps or browser tabs that might be using the camera/mic.
Use a different camera or microphone.
Refresh the webinar page.
Switch to phone audio if needed.
2. Camera not working in the latest Chrome version
Why this happens:
An experimental Chrome feature called Media Foundation Video Capture might be causing compatibility issues with your webcam.
Steps to fix:
Open Chrome and go to:
chrome://flags/#enable-media-foundation-video-capture
Set the dropdown to Disabled.
Relaunch the browser and retry your webinar.
3. Not Found Error / Devices Not Found Error
Why this happens:
Your system may not have any audio/video devices connected.
The microphone or camera may be disabled or not recognized by your OS.
The sound card may be missing or faulty.
Solution:
Ensure all devices are connected properly.
If devices are unavailable, use phone audio.
4. Over Constrained Error / Constraints Not Satisfied Error
Why this happens:
Your camera or mic doesn't meet the resolution or hardware constraints required by the browser or webinar tool.
Solution:
Switch to a different camera or mic.
Use the Zoho Webinar desktop app.
Use phone audio and join without video.
5. Not Allowed Error / Permission Denied Error / Invalid State
These may also appear as:
Permission Dismissed
Media Device Failed to Shut Down
Media Device Kill Switch
Why this happens:
Browser or OS permissions are blocking Zoho Webinar from accessing your mic or camera.
Solution:
Check browser settings (Chrome, Firefox, Edge, Safari):
Click the lock icon in the address bar and allow mic and camera access.
On Safari:
Go to site settings → Allow camera, microphone, and screen sharing.
On macOS Mojave and later:
Navigate to System Preferences > Security & Privacy > Privacy.
Enable browser access for camera and microphone.
Use the desktop app if browser access is restricted.
6. Track Ended Error
Why this happens:
Your mic or camera was disconnected or permission was revoked during the session.
Solution:
Reconnect your devices and refresh the page.
Restart your browser or system.
Use the desktop app or switch to phone audio.
7. Camera or Microphone Not Working Due to Extensions
Why this happens:
Some browser extensions block WebRTC-based communication used in webinars.
Solution:
Disable unnecessary extensions and refresh the browser.
Try joining in Incognito Mode.
Use phone audio or the desktop app.
If the issue persists, contact support.
8. Abort Error
Why this happens:
Even after allowing mic/camera access, your browser blocks the actual use of these devices.
Solution:
Refresh the tab or restart your computer.
Use phone audio.
Use the Zoho Webinar desktop app.
Contact Zoho Webinar support for assistance.
