Auto-Responder triggered by adding to segment?

Hey, is it possible to trigger an autoresponder by the date a contact has been assigned to a segment rather than to the mailing list?

Currently, the trigger is set to "added to mailing list" and we have set up the responder only to send mails if the user is also part of a segment. However, we would like to send the first email based on the time/date the user has been added to the segment rather than the whole list as there can be a difference.
