Automatic License Management Upon User Deactivation in Zoho One

Dear Zoho Team,

We would like to propose a feature enhancement for Zoho One regarding license management. Currently, when a user is deactivated, their license is not automatically downgraded or removed from our account. Zoho explains this behavior by suggesting that the license might be reused for a new user. However, this requires us to manually downgrade the license if it is no longer needed, which can be inconvenient and lead to unnecessary charges.

We propose the following enhancement:

  1. Automatic License Removal Upon Deactivation:
    When a user is deactivated, their license should be automatically removed from the account unless a new user is added within a specific grace period.

  2. Grace Period for Reassignment:
    To address scenarios where an organization is replacing one user with another, a 24-hour grace period could be provided. If a new user is not added within this period, the license would be automatically removed.

This feature would save costs for organizations that might take time to onboard a replacement user and avoid the need for manual intervention to manage licenses effectively.

We believe this improvement will greatly enhance the user experience and streamline account management in Zoho One.
