Cannot share a doc/sharing email never arrives

I have a workbook I want to share.

Repro steps:
I go to 'My Docs'.
I find the doc I want to Share and click the "Actions.." button.
I select 'Share'.
I enter the email address in the dialogue and click OK.

Result
Email never arrives. Its been hours. (I am sending it to another email accnt I own. It is not in the jumk mail folder.)

What is happening here?

Why is it so hard to share a doc?

Also, it would be really nice if, when sending the mail, that there is some sort of feedback to me that it was sent.
