Converted Leads not removed from Lead Campaign List

Converted Leads not removed from Lead Campaign List

We have 2 autoresponders, 1 for leads and 1 for clients.  When a lead converts to a contact, we want them removed from the lead autoresponder list.  To achieve this, I have checked in the sync config "Exclude Converted Leads" and also checked unsubscribed.  But when I go to these leads later, they are now on both lists.

Anyone know what I am doing wrong?
