Create Item group from a composite Item

Create Item group from a composite Item

I have applied my mind for hours but cannot figure this out. Can you have a composite item in an item group?. E.g. We bundle different color and size SKU's together as composite items.

Also Using composite items as Bill of Materials. We want to create a group in stead of hundreds of loose items...

Any ideas?
